What’s New in Sakai 12?

Sakai 12 is now available! The new version has improved usability, a better mobile experience, and many new features and enhancements. Here are some new features in Sakai’s most important tools:

Gradebook

New options are now available to change or arrange the view of Gradebook items. View or hide columns quickly from one button, or change the order with drag and drop with the new “Item Order” button.

Test & Quizzes

Need to create an exception for one of your tests? You can easily create one or many with the new option “Exceptions to Time Limit and Delivery Date.”

Commons Tool (New!)

Have you ever wanted to make your site more social? Now you can with the new Commons tool. It functions similarly to Facebook with wall-style posts on a single page.

Chat

The Chat tool now has an improved interface that includes a simpler design. To make the tool more social, each participant’s avatar or picture is shown from their Profile tool settings, as well as an indicator showing their online status.

Lessons

The Lessons tool now has an option to have subpages show in the menu as a collapsible list.
