DE SIG @Duke: Focus on Online Education

Join your distance education colleagues on Feb. 14, 2017 for a meeting hosted by the Duke School of Nursing, a leader in online and distance learning.

Our spring DE SIG @Duke meetings will be hosted on-site by a specific Duke school/department and will offer an overview of their online courses and programs. Topics addressed will range from managing online programs – processes, technologies, and instructional design, to quality assurance, program evaluation, student and faculty satisfaction, and emerging trends in online teaching and learning.

By visiting Duke DE programs this spring, we have an opportunity to learn from one another, share resources, and learn how to better support programs from the administrator and faculty perspective.

The Distance Education Special Interest Group (DE SIG @Duke) is open to anyone at Duke with an interest in online teaching and learning. We focus on program administration, pedagogy, instructional design, and learning technologies. Group membership includes online program administrators, faculty, instructional designers, educational technologists, e-Learning developers, and IT leaders.

DE SIG @Duke meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of every even-numbered month, 3pm-4:30pm (locations TBD based on topic). Each meeting includes time for open discussion and opportunities to network with others from around Duke who are involved with distance education.
