Attend the 2016 CIT Showcase

The 2016 CIT Showcase is just a few weeks away, and the full schedule of concurrent sessions is now available. Register to attend the showcase! This free event, which highlights innovative teaching ideas and outstanding work by Duke faculty and others, will be held on October 11 at the Durham Convention Center. Start your morning with breakfast and registration at 8:00 AM, and attend sessions from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Lunch will also be provided to those that register by Thursday, October 6th at 5:00 PM and free parking will be available for all attendees.

We are pleased to announce that Provost Sally Kornbluth will open the event. This year’s Keynote Address will be delivered by Randy Bass, the Vice-Provost for Education and Professor of English at Georgetown University. Bass leads the Designing the Future(s) initiative, which promotes innovative teaching and innovative visions of what a university should be. He has also been a long time proponent of portfolios as a means for students to tell the story of their learning.

We hope you will join us!

In addition to offering presentation sessions, the Showcase features information tables that provide an opportunity to learn more about teaching- and learning-related tools and services that are offered by various departments across campus.  During scheduled breaks between sessions and at lunch, you can explore these tables and take advantage of the opportunity to talk with other attendees about teaching, the intersection of technology and learning, and to get new ideas for your own classes.
