This year’s Keynote Address, which is titled “Learning that Lasts,” and occurs at 9:00 AM, will be delivered by Peter Felten, and will explore research into the nature and qualities of university experiences that challenge students to develop the knowledge, skills, and commitments that will allow them to thrive in a rapidly changing world.  Felten is Assistant Provost for Teaching and Learning, Executive Director of the Center for Engaged Learning, and Professor of History at Elon University. His publications include the co-authored books Transforming Students: Fulfilling the Promise of Higher Education (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2014) and Engaging Students as Partners in Learning and Teaching (Jossey-Bass, 2014).

We hope you will join us!

In addition to offering presentation sessions, the Showcase features information tables that provide an opportunity to learn more about teaching- and learning-related tools and services that are offered by various departments across campus.  During scheduled breaks between sessions and at lunch, you can explore these tables and take advantage of the opportunity to talk with other attendees about teaching, the intersection of technology and learning, and to get new ideas for your own classes.  You can also take the opportunity to explore recently renovated portions of the Duke University Libraries.
