Faculty Summer Book Club

Now that the semester is drawing to a close, it is time to think about summer reading. The Center for Instructional Technology invites you to read with us and engage with colleagues in a discussion about teaching and learning. Throughout June, we will be reading from the work, What the Best College Teachers Do by Ken Bain.BestTeachersBook
Bain’s book, based on the findings of a fifteen-year study, offers illustrative examples of what good teaching looks like and provides insight into how great teachers interact with their subjects, their students, and think about their teaching.
  • Faculty Summer Book Club will meet June 2, 9, 16, and 23 from 12:00 – 1:30 in Bostock 024. We ask that applicants attend at least three of the four meetings.
  • Please bring a lunch if you wish. CIT will provide the drinks and desserts.
  • Apply now to take part in the Summer Book Club (space is limited; deadline is May 15 and teaching faculty receive highest priority).
  • We will inform applicants who are admitted to the Book Club by Monday 5/18/2015.

All active participants will receive a copy of the book free of charge.
