Spring 2012 Teaching IDEAS workshops

The annual Teaching IDEAS workshop series hosted by the Graduate School is designed to educate Duke faculty, instructors, postdocs and PhD students about current research, best practices and university resources relevant to effective college teaching and improved student learning. Workshops are led by Duke faculty and staff or invited speakers who have expertise in faculty development or higher education.

Pre-registration is required. All workshops offered 12:00-1:30 pm in Perkins Library 217 (unless noted otherwise) with a free, delicious boxed lunch for those with a confirmed pre-registration (at least 3 work days prior to event).

  • Monday Feb 6: Teaching Honors Chemistry Without the Textbook
  • Friday Feb 17: Leadership Skills for (Future) Faculty
  • Thursday Feb 23: Bleed Blue, Learn Green: Sustainability, Teaching & Learning at Duke
  • Tuesday Mar 13: Using WordPress in Humanities Writing Courses
  • Monday Mar 26: Developing an Online Teaching Portfolio
