CIT recently co-hosted (along with Duke’s Office of News and Communications) a ‘social media’ workshop for Duke faculty. Here’s a link to the PDF version of the handout from the session. Ideas for using social media in your teaching

Social media at Duke

  • Duke OnDemand: Duke on Demand pulls together videos from across campus, highlighting speakers, research findings, live events and more. A good place to start when looking for official Duke content.
  • Social Media @ Duke: Duke’s social media gateway page. Find official Twitter accounts, updates from Facebook, links to Duke YouTube channels, Flickr and more.
  • Twitter hashtag from the session: #dukesocial

Social media events in (or around) the Triangle

  • Social Carolina: a social media calendar for events and meetups in NC
  • Science Online 2011: conference for scientists, science communicators, bloggers, etc. Official website coming soon – but you can contribute to the agenda as it develops here.
  • Converge South: Well-known blogger conference held in Greensboro.
