Dr. James Reynolds (Environmental Science and Biology) teaches his Environmental Modeling course with both an in-class, student-lead discussion and a computer lab. Previously, he has spent time in the lab with each student, demonstrating the same things over and over. This semester, he has used Jing to quickly create simple, short videos of common tasks. He uses the videos at the beginning of the lab, to walk the students through the techniques and procedures, and then the students can refer to the videos as needed, via Blackboard. Students have been accessing the videos and he can now spend his time with students helping them with more complex tasks.
