Teaching with Twitter

It’s hard to go anywhere or listen to anything without hearing something about Twitter these days, but how does it apply in an academic setting? Can the same technology that was used to communicate during Iranian political protests, following their presidential election, be used to help students learn?

You and several other faculty members can explore that topic during monthly brown bag lunch sessions. We’ll talk about ideas of how Twitter can be used in your course and look at tools that can make using Twitter for teaching easier. The first one will be on September 10th at 12pm. Hello, I am a recent graduate from a library science program at the University of Western Ontario in Canada. I came across your blog through a link to your library magazine on delicious and I am intrigued about the idea of using Twitter for teaching. I would love to hear the ideas you came up with during your brown bag lunch session. If you are able to share, please respond by commenting on my blog: https://mylibrarymatters.wordpress.com

    Thank you!

Thank you all for your comments!

@Zack – Of course, as does everything eventually. That’s why I’ve suspended my postal mail and quit reading my e-mail.

@Steffen – Fortunately, people get to post 140 characters more than once! Otherwise we’d have to choose those 140 very carefully.

@N. Bertolotti – Congratulations both on your recent graduation and starting your blog. Be sure to check out my recent post to read what was discussed during the first lunch session: https://idek.net/W7r
