Consulting

In 2016-17, CIT staff responded to 868 requests for information and/or consults.

The chart below shows the topics that people contacted CIT about to request consulting, training, or technical help.

  • Tools: Box, Coursera, Duke Extend, PlayPosit, Qualtrics, Sakai, WordPress, Tableau, virtual worlds/virtual reality, and lecture capture tools
  • Online teaching: questions related to pedagogy and best practices in online teaching, including MOOCs
  • Services/events: CIT fellowships, grants, outreach, and the Showcase
  • Campus teaching: active learning, learning assessment, course design, flipped classes, and materials development
  • Video: best practices for making instructional videos
  • Misc: equipment loans, mobile devices, polling, the lightboard, web conferencing, presentation software, and surveys

Note that the number of topics CIT staff helped people with exceeds the total number of contacts because some people contacted CIT with questions about multiple topics.
