Learning Technology

CIT collaborates with the Office of Information Technology, Trinity College of Arts & Sciences and others to explore and integrate academic tools into Duke’s learning technology ecosystem to meet the full range of Duke’s teaching and learning needs.

In 2016–2017, CIT supported learning technology at Duke by:

  • managing and supporting Duke’s learning management system (Sakai)
  • supporting other enterprise learning technologies (Sites@Duke, Warpwire)
  • exploring new learning technologies and their effective pedagogical applications
  • providing faculty opportunities to explore new or experimental technologies
  • reforming the Sakai Governance Committee with a broader scope as Learning Technology Advisory Council or LearnTAC
  • hosting LRNTCHWS, a two day unconference on learning technologies with 45 attendees from 14 different organizations
  • hosting Future State of Learning Technology at Duke, a one day workshop for Duke faculty, staff and leadership with 30 attendees
