Online Initiatives

CIT leads Duke’s Online Education Initiatives in collaboration with the Associate Vice Provost for Digital and Online Education Initiatives, the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and the Office of Information Technology.

Through this initiative, CIT:

  • partners with faculty to manage the design, development and production of online courses and materials
  • explores new hybrid/blended strategies for delivering courses on campus
  • manages complex projects like Coursera specializations and global collaborative courses
  • explores new platforms and technologies for supporting online courses
  • researches and evaluates the effectiveness of Duke MOOCs and other Duke online activities
  • shares lessons learned with the rest of the Duke community

The video below provides a selection of the new and exciting ways Duke University faculty are teaching online on topics like computer science, business, art, health, and engineering. (Produced by our online video production team shared and managed by OIT Academic and Media Technologies)
