CIT holds an annual free event that highlights the innovative use of instructional technology and teaching at Duke. The 2014 Showcase was held Monday, October 13, 2014 from 8:30am – 2:00pm at the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club. 242 faculty and staff attended 16 different sessions, including those on online teaching, flipping the classroom, sustainable teaching and using MOOC data.
Michael Feldstein — an educator, eLearning consultant, and educational technology industry analyst — keynoted the event. Feldstein discussed ways to approach educational technology sensibly in the wake of the MOOC hype.
